Ski Programs

Learn to Ski

The Friends of Cole’s Woods will once again hold adult learn-to-ski nights every Wednesday evening during January (January 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st).  Lessons will be for both Classic & Skate styles, and are free of charge.

Bill Koch Youth Ski Program

We will also be partnering with the Bill Koch Youth Ski Program. This program is designed to introduce Nordic skiing to kids 3-12.  The program features a great group of volunteer adults who use games, play, and group activities to introduce the basic skills and fun of Nordic skiing.  The program will meet Wednesday evenings in January and February. For more information, please email billkochskileague@gmail.com.

Both programs will begin at 6:00 PM each evening, and take place on the field behind Inside Edge Ski & Bike Shop on Upper Glen Street. The lessons, for youths and adults, will be contingent on current snow conditions, as well as public health guidance and allowances. Weekly program determinations will be made by the Tuesday prior to the program, and posted on this website and on our Facebook Page.

2021 Fall Cleanup Days

The Saturday, Nov. 13th Workday is Postponed to:
Sunday, Nov. 14th
10:00 am – Noon

Due to a rainy forecast, we’re postponing our scheduled Nov. 13th workday to Sunday, Nov. 14th from 10:00am to noon.

Meetup location will be the same: the northeast portion of the track next to the Glens Falls YMCA. We will focus on cutting out the brush obscuring the lights and providing improved access to the wires for the City’s electrician. We suggest wearing long sleeve shirts, pants, and work gloves. Bring loppers, clippers, and hand saws if you have them.
